niner would hoard photographs like a grandpa you mark my words

Was flicking through my Order 66 notes, and we know Kal has pictures from Kamino of the Nulls and some of his commando squads, including Theta. Photos are important. You don't even usually realize how important until you're looking at them.

You think he shares them with Omega? They would never think to ask, probably wouldn't even realize it was a thing, but I can’t imagine why he wouldn’t if it came up, even if he doesn’t think of it himself. Niner seeing Two-Eight again, and the squad he lost to Geonosis, and being struck by how young they all look to him now (they were, what, physically eighteen when they died? And Two-Eight even younger?), and Darman being able to see Theta, and Fi.

You think he’d have shared those pictures with Fi while he was recovering?

If Vau was the one taking the pictures, that would mean he probably has both of Atin's squads, too. Pictures of Sev. And all the commando squads out there who are the subject of those photos but don't get to know they exist.

There isn't much point to this, lol, it just made me think about these guys seeing those photos the first time.

Watch Atin promptly take up photography with a fervor. Niner puts them on the fridge.

That makes me wonder if whatever you see through your helmet ends up recorded, like footage you can go back through for tactical/learning purposes. Wait until someone figures out that you can go back through that footage if you want and take and download stills. So you can go back and basically save a picture of your friend doing something funny and stupid for a second, just to have as a memory.

Niner would be the grandpa who never explicitly tells you that he loves you and is proud of you, but when he opens his wallet to pay for something an entire accordion-style flip book of dozens of photographs of you just springs out. He's also taken meticulous notes on what exactly a "PlayStation" is so that he can buy you the correct game you mentioned wanting for your birthday, and shares a life story with you that's somehow weirdly applicable to whatever you're going through at the moment as his way of letting you know that he cares and wants to help but respects your boundaries if you're not comfortable talking about it.
